    1. The highway D bridge over the St. Francis is neither a low-water bridge nor is there a gauge on it. What gives? The low-water bridge with the gauge is the old highway D bridge. In , the highway department by-passed this bridge with a new, high bridge. The low-water bridge was blocked to vehicular traffic and left as a pedestrian walkway. The White River, which debouches by one channel into the Arkansas, and into the Mississippi by the other, is navigable for steamboats miles, the Big Black River and the St. Francis for miles. The Red River runs through the south-west angle of the State, and receives some small tributaries within its limits.

      Not sure how well the pillar will work in much deeper water (like several pillars deep -- as we have only played with a single pillar deep water), but it makes a pretty nice bridge.
